CAN/LIN

Increasingly the relationship between system buses and embedded software execution is becoming more relevant during development, and system integration and testing. To bridge this divide, the CAN/CAN-FD and LIN bus network data can be captured and displayed in parallel to the microcontroller code execution domain. For CAN/CAN-FD, injection of messages is provided. The CAN/LIN Add-on module can be simply attached to an FNet port on iC7max or iC5700 BlueBox to visualize the delays across system software.

  • Correlation of bus data to the application behavior (program and data trace) over time. Time stamp is set in the BlueBox.
  • End-to-end response time of a send to receive message
  • Trigger on CAN: Start a trace recording when a dedicated CAN message (frame) appears on the bus and analyze the application behavior from that point in time
  • Correlate CAN messages and trace recordings to digital/analog IO or SPI signals (additional ADIO AOM needed)
  • Inject CAN messages
  • Automate testing with the use of scripting
